In May 2025, Aurora Innovation launched the first autonomous freight truck service in Texas, operating between Houston and Dallas. As large truck fatality rates rise—up over 24% in Texas since 2019—concerns grow about safety, licensing, and training. With Houston’s freight volume increasing, autonomous delivery is set to reshape the industry. TPN is closely monitoring this shift as more companies enter the autonomous freight space nationwide.

The parking industry is a service-first, support-based business. While technology enhances the customer experience—helping with navigation, entry, pricing, and security—it must not replace our core commitment to customer care. As operators, we must serve all age groups, not just tech-savvy users. Technology is a tool, not the goal.
