The Parking Network, Inc. (TPN) was founded in 1997 by experienced parking facility operators who wanted to present solutions to the problems facing the parking industry. These operators knew the key areas of parking operations where revenue can be increased or lost.
Clyde B. Wilson, Jr., the President and owner of The Parking Network, Inc., has 39 years of experience as a creative, “hands-on” manager of public and private parking facilities and applies his practical, “real world” operational approach with TPN’s consulting programs.  After graduating from MTSU Clyde had stints in the Air Force and retailer Sears. He began his career in the parking industry in 1979 in the corporate office of Central Parking System. In1988 Clyde left Central Parking and joined commercial operating company, APCOA, as President of Urban Properties South. Since founding TPN in 1997, he has focused his unique problem-solving skills on operational, audit, and management issues for parking facilities in a multitude of settings. Clyde’s focus since 1997 has been on solving the inefficiencies of the Parking Industry.

Beginning as a general parking consulting company, TPN has evolved into a parking financial and operations performance monitoring firm, under Clyde’s vision. With the goal of providing unique performance monitoring programs for TPN clients, Clyde developed TPN’s Performance Monitoring (PM) program in 2003, Parking Tax Recovery program in 2000, Focus Point Program in 2007, Flow Thru Technologies in 2013, and the now industry leading parking information management program RPM developed and rolled out to our clients in 2016. These industry-changing parking solutions take parking revenue and operational oversight to a new level of sophistication and productivity, assuring clients that their parking revenue is being monitored by experienced parking performance and audit professionals.

The Parking Tax recovery program created by TPN increased the parking tax income for the City of Miami by 25% in the first year.  In four years from 2004 to 2008 the City of Los Angles parking tax income increased from 48M to 90M under the program created by TPN.  The PM program was designed as a method of gathering information to make decisions on which garages were under-performing so that resources could be focused where they could have the highest impact.  PM has evolved into a remote monitoring system of our clients revenues reducing or eliminating their need for financial audits.  Focus Point Parking created by Clyde in 2007 and sold to Central Parking System in 2010, was the very first professionally remotely managed parking operation.  In 2007 Clyde believed that technologically the industry was at a point where every transaction could be monitored and assisted by a centrally managed Command Center.   The result was that in every Focus operation, 10 to 15 parking employees were removed from the payroll and the gross revenue increased by 18%. 

Flow Thru Technologies was the very first parking hardware system created that removed the parking ticket from the operation.  Clyde patented the Flow Thru System of replacing the parking ticket issued to a parking customer with the use of the customer’s phone number.  The RPM program is the first in the parking industry, the “Interactive Parking Information System” designed to begin the process of integrating a Parking Revenue hardware system with a software system designed from the location management prospective.

A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Clyde now resides in Houston, TX and Los Angeles, CA. He has written articles for several parking publications in the US and internationally, and has been a speaker on numerous topics for parking-related conventions. Clyde is also a member of the Temecula Parking Group (TPG), a parking “think tank” designed to improve the image, resources, and representation of the parking industry. Additionally Clyde is the director of the Parking Boot Camp program developed for Parking Today and designed to kick off the magazine’s annual Parking Industry Exhibition.
